Space operations are entering a new era of congestion and complexity. To stay ahead, organizations must track activity across orbital, spectrum, and RF domains and react instantly to interference and anomalous behavior. For the Department of Defense, this visibility is critical to maintaining space superiority, detecting hostile actions, and assuring mission success; for commercial operators, it is essential to preventing service disruptions, protecting revenue, and operating fleets at scale; and for regulators, enabling effective compliance monitoring, enforcement, and preservation of the space environment. Today, however, essential data remains fragmented across multiple tools, limiting visibility, slowing analysis, and exposing space operations to unnecessary risk.

To address this challenge, the Comsat Architects team has prototyped COMET, a cloud-based software platform that provides a unified environment to view, obtain, and rapidly analyze satellite RF spectrum and orbital data across LEO, MEO, and GEO altitudes. COMET integrates regulatory, RF, and orbital information from multiple sources to support detection of spectrum violations, anomalous satellite behavior, and interference risks. Designed to address an increasingly congested space environment and fragmented data across the space domain, COMET replaces manual correlation with automated analytics, predictive insights, and user-friendly visualization tools, helping government and commercial operators spend less time preparing data and more time making informed decisions.

COMET merges multiple regulatory and technical data sources into a single view for analysis.

  • Unifies critical data: Integrates orbital information, RF spectrum allocations, and registry documentation into one interface
  • Monitors spectrum usage: Continuously tracks FCC and ITU allocations to detect potential violations & pinpoint likely transmitting satellites
  • Checks registrations: Cross-references UN registry filings with launch manifests to find missing or inconsistent records
  • Highlights risks and anomalies: Automatically flags unregistered satellites, unauthorized transmission & other compliance issues to streamline space domain awareness
COMET platform features including RF, spectrum, and orbital data with integrated multi-source databases, predictive insights using automated spectrum and behavior analytics, user-friendly front-end query and visualization tools, and real-time updates from FCC, ITU, and registry data.
