Comsat Architects Sponsors Case Western Reserve University BalloonSat Project

Comsat Architects is a proud sponsor of an impressive group of Case Western Reserve University students working to develop communications technology for a balloon “swarm” called BalloonSat.

The goal of the BalloonSat project is to demonstrate a communications payload for a group of balloons—typically referred to as a swarm—acting together for a common mission. The BalloonSat swarm will collect sensor data and transmit that data through the swarm to the ground.

The group of students working on BalloonSat features several Comsat Architects interns, one working on development of the balloon platform for the demonstration and another on development of the communications payload. The team is shown in the image below during a project meeting to develop the communications payload for the balloon platform.

This remarkable team of students is now looking forward to building and demonstrating their integrated BalloonSats. Comsat Architects is incredibly proud to continue our tradition of supporting up-and-coming talent in Northeast Ohio by sponsoring their work.
